Workation

Clothes hanging to dry on a clothesline outside. Sea in the background.

From NOK 5,000 per guest

This package applies outside the summer season. Workation is the concept where you combine work with vacation. Tranøy Lighthouse is the perfect setting for just that! The lighthouse keeper’s dwelling is a complete apartment with a spacious kitchen, a warm bedroom and a cozy living room with its own work area. Here you can get new impulses and surroundings, be at one with nature and the weather and relax completely when the work session is over.

“One day the inspiration came and I started writing. And in the weeks that followed, the writing became all-consuming – in a very good way. I jumped out of bed at sunrise. Made coffee. Ran up to the room with the phenomenal view. The computer was ready on the desk under the window. Clear horizon outside. Waves out. Waves in. Occasionally a curious skylark on the roof below. I forgot to eat. I forgot about the one weekly appointment I had. Nature and I became one. When the rain came, I would feel sorrow. The storm woke up my mind. Then the sun came with joy.” – Kari Bruheim during a writing stay at Tranøy Lighthouse.

The package includes:

  • A complete apartment with cozy living room, separate bedroom, work space and private bathroom.
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Wireless network
