Discover marine wildlife at Tranøy Lighthouse

What actually lives just below the surface of the sea when you visit Tranøy Lighthouse? What ecosystems and species are we really protecting when we try to take care of the sea?

Tranøy Lighthouse is establishing itself as a key player in the national focus on regenerative tourism. In short, this means that visitors should leave the destination in better condition than when they arrived. But how do you do this?

Join our knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides on a voyage of discovery in the pier aquarium and on the shore at Tranøy Lighthouse! Learn about mandolin crabs, sea urchins, starfish and all the other species we live side by side with. You might even discover a brand new species!

We believe that knowledge, understanding and empathy for nature is how we can leave it in better condition than we inherited it. And this is something we can all contribute to at our little citizen science station at Tranøy Lighthouse – both young and old!

  • Short discovery tour in the aquarium: Every day at 11:00 am (duration approx. 30 min). Tickets
  • Long discovery trip on the shore: every day at 14.00 (duration approx. 1.5 hours). Tickets
