Bicycle tours
Go on a bike sightseeing tour and experience the place on two wheels. If you like, we can prepare a lunch for the tour.
Photo tour
It’s almost self-explanatory that photography is one of the most popular activities out here. Go hunting for the Northern Lights in winter, or catch the midnight sun in summer. There are plenty of great destinations to delight any photography enthusiast.
Sculpture walk
On Tranøy there are many sculptures scattered throughout the beautiful landscape. Set aside a few hours for a sculpture walk and take in the rock pool exhibition at Heimerhamna, the coastal women and the art galleries Tranøy, Hamsun and Loskjelleren.
Octopus
Not far from the lighthouse you will find the sculpture “Kraken” by Alvin Jensvold. Kraken reflects today’s reality, namely the pollution of the sea. According to Norwegian folklore, the kraken is a huge sea monster or giant fish that fishermen are said to have seen along the coast. The kraken at Tranøy Lighthouse blew ashore because it had become so polluted by all the rubbish in the sea.
